About AWOC.COM Publishing
AWOC.COM Publishing is a small independent publisher that produces both fiction and nonfiction books. With few exceptions, our books are published as trade paperbacks (POD) and simultaneously as Kindle and Nook ebooks and made available from most bookstores online. AWOC.COM Publishing is not a “subsidy” publisher or “vanity” publisher — we pay our authors.

History
In 1997, AWOC.COM started publishing the newsletter for writers, Writing for DOLLARS! and the website The Writers' Place which boasted the first searchable database of writer's guidelines on the Internet (there were other websites with guidelines, but only lists, not databases). This website soon changed to the Writing for DOLLARS! website as it is today. The first Chicken Writer daily cartoons were published and syndicated throughout the Internet in 1998.
In 2001, AWOC.COM began publishing books for writers with its first title, The Complete Guide to Writing and Selling Magazine Articles by Peggy Fielding and Dan Case. They later expanded into other genres with imprints, Axia Books, sci-fi, Buoy Up Press, inspirational, Deadly Niche Press, mystery, Diva, chick-lit and romance, Devoted Books, a devotional series, Roots & Branches, historical and genealogy.
